Working Ecodriving improves the environment

Port of Göteborg is working actively to limit its impact on the climate. An important method to reduce carbon dioxide emissions is to use so called Working Ecodrivning when driving working machines such as straddle trucks and forklifts, reach stackers and terminal tractors. Ecodriving is a way of planning driving and optimizing logistics in order to be able to predict various situations and thus avoid stopping unnecessarily. Keeping a steady speed is the most important way to save fuel and protect the environment. The Port of Göteborg can reduce its fuel consumption by 15-20 percent through the introduction of Working Ecodriving. This means carbon dioxide emissions could be reduced by approximately 2,000 tons per year.
