Quake-grounded 'K' Line bulker refloated and towed after cargo discharge

JAPANESE shipping giant Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line) has revealed that its chartered bulk carrier, the 175,775-ton China Steel Integrity has been refloated after being grounded in Port of Kashima, Japan in the March 11 earthquake-tsunami disaster.


Enough cargo was discharged by barge to refloat the ship and enable unloading the rest at quayside, after which she was towed out of the port, said a "K" Line statement.
