Qingdao port container throughput up 17.6pc in first quarter

EAST China's Qingdao port recorded a 13.2 per cent increase in throughput to 96 million tonnes and moved 17.6 per cent more containers to top 3.2 million TEU in the first quarter, reports Xinhua. 


The growth credited the port's enhanced information technology for helping to boost volumes. The port completed 159 IT achievements and 282 research and development items to upgrade operations, management and office procedures.
