Panamanian government to build two new mega-ports

The Panamanian government will soon call for an international tender for the construction and management of two new mega-ports, according to The Bulletin Panama.


According to Port News, the two new facilities will complement the port areas needed after the expansion of the Panama Canal in 2014.


The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) and the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), along with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, will be studying the two projects.


The new ports will be located on the Panamanian Pacific in the cities of Balboa and Rodman.
