FUZHOU, a port in southeast China, plans to achieve a throughput of 73 million tonnes by the end of this year and is striving to reach 76 million tonnes, Xinhua reports.
The port also plans to handle 1.65 million tonnes of container cargo this year and aims at 1.7 million tonnes.
By 2015, the last year of the 12th national five-year plan period, the port will raise its throughput to 110 million tonnes.
This year, the port plans to launch two container ocean shipping lanes and increase its throughput by six million tonnes, with 200,000 TEU. In addition, the port will build three berths, bringing it an extra capacity of 11 million tonnes.
