KSCP posts for Jan-Feb, 2011 a 15.8% volume growth to 509,400 tons

Cargo throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC (KSCP) in January-February 2011 increased by 15.8% compared to January-February 2010 to 509,400 tons, the stevedoring company press service said.


In the reporting period the volume of outbound cargo rose by 12.5 percent to 430.9 million tons. Exports of bulk cargo soared 62.7% from the same period a year earlier, to 64,600 tons, general cargo increased by 20% to 282,300 tons, while shipment of oil products dropped by 23.5% to 79,000 tons.


In February, the stevedore handled 242,800 tons of cargo, a 8-percent drop from Feb, 2010.


Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is a stevedore company operating at the Port of Kaliningrad. The Port of Kaliningrad is a gateway for major trade flows passing through the Russian region. In 2010, cargo throughput of KSCP rose as much as 1.4 times year-over-year to 3 million 64.7 thousand tons.
