Australia's flood-hit Bundaberg port reopens

Australia's Bundaberg port will start clearing a significant backlog of sugar shipment after it reopened last Friday.


The southern Queensland port has been closed for more than two months after the Burnett River flooded in late December, resulting in more than 120,000 tonnes of sugar left stockpiled. Ships up to 140 metres in length can now enter the port to after the completion of dredging works to remove a build-up of silt.
