21 ships need icebreaker assistance in the Gulf

As of 8:00am (MT), March 1st, there are 21 cargo ships awaiting icebreakers assistance in the eastern Gulf of Finland, the Port Authority of Big Port St. Petersburg reports.


Overall, there are currently 66 merchant ships in the area, 31 of them – in motion, 14 vessels are expected to call at Big Port St. Petersburg. As for now, there have been 11 vessels at the St. Pb entrance buoy, 23 ships are westbound,17 vessels have arrived at Big Port St. Petersburg, 9 ships left the port. Of all the cargo ships 10 are subject to ice restrictions.
