OJSC Petrolesport (a Global Ports group company, Russia) commissioned the first phase of the customs inspection complex and a new container storage yard. These facilities were constructed as part of the second stage of Petrolesport's investment program, with the total investments amounting to 373.609 mln. Rubles ($12.3 mln.).
Container movement operations at the new complex built on Baltpole are performed with high capacity Straddle Carriers Autoshutles which allow to make multiple moves of containers during the day. The technology allows the clients to reduce the container handling time at the port which includes customs and other procedures, by at least one day.
Inspection yard has a covered shed for unpacking cargo from containers (210 m long and 10 m wide), necessary weighing equipment (weighing machines up to 3 kg, 60 kg, 3 t and 60 t) and modern LED lighting.
The company has also put in place a comprehensive security system that includes CCTV, fencing, access barriers and a dedicated access control system. To generally improve the overall procedure of customs inspection the yard has modern module premises accommodating customs offices, offices of the terminal and an entry checkpoint. In addition, there is a parking lot accommodating 50 cars.
The new container yard is adjacent to the inspection complex area which allows to move containers from the inspection yard without loss of time. Maximum capacity of the yard: "dry" containers - 864 TEU, reefer containers - 864 TEU (18 reefer stands with 24 sockets each). The yard is serviced by two rubber tyred gantry cranes (RTG).
