Freight traffic passing via the port of Helsinki (Finland) in January increased by 9% from last year’s monthly volume, to 884,000 tons, the Port Authority said. These figures do not include shipments of containers and vehicles.
The port's container trade in January was up 1% to 32,513 TEUs, Ro-Ro cargo volume increased by 15% to 37,506 units.
Port of Helsinki is a largest port in Finland. Cargo throughput of the port in 2010 grew by 12% y-o-y to 10,921,000 tons, container traffic rose 11% to 399,903 TEUs, Ro-Ro cargo shipments totaled 488,772 units (+13%).
