MCC launches new intra-Asia service

MCC Transport has introduced a new Intra-Asia service (IA-8), which provides direct and fast transit between ports in Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, China,
Taiwan and Malaysia.


IA-8 offers the following benefits to customers operating in Indonesia – Direct and fast product from Jakarta to Japanese ports; one of the fastest products from Surabaya to Nagoya, with a transit of 10 days; Shanghai southbound mid-week sailing; additional direct service from Indonesia to Manila with five days transit time; weekend cut-off from Jakarta (JICT).


For Philippines the benefits are: A direct and fast product from Philippines to Japan with five days transit time; weekend cut-off from Manila.


For Japan, the benefits are: Direct service from Japan to Shanghai, Tanjung Pelepas and Indonesia; new port of call, Shimizu (Japan); MCC product from Nagoya to the main transhipment hub of Tanjung Pelepas; weekend cut-off from Shimizu, Tokyo and Yokohama.


For Malaysia, the benefits are: Additional Shanghai southbound mid-week sailing to existing IA4 service weekend sailing, and direct to Tanjung Pelepas.


The benefits for Taiwan are: Weekend cut-off from Kaohsiung; additional Keelung-Tanjung Pelepas and Kaohsiung-Tanjung Pelepas sailing; additional direct service from Taiwan to Indonesia with seven days transit time.


The new IA-8 service runs on a 28-days rotation covering the ports of Jakarta (JICT),Surabaya, Manila, Nagoya, Shimizu, Tokyo, Yokohoma, Shanghai, Keelung, Kaohsiung,Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, and then back to Jakarta (JICT).


The first sailing for IA-8 is expected to depart Tanjung Pelepas on 25 February.
