Port of Qingdao's box volume hit 12 million TEU in 2010

PORT of Qingdao, in eastern Shandong province, recorded a container throughput of 12 million TEU and a cargo tonnage of 350 million tonnes as of December 28, Xinhua reports.


During the period from 2006 to 2010, the port's throughput grew at an annual rate of 13.5 per cent to 49.5 million TEU, and 1.5 billion tonnes overall - more than double that of the period from 2001 to 2005
