SHANGHAI's Yangshan port registers an annual growth rate of 32.5 per cent in container throughput in the past five years to over 35 million TEU, reports Xinhua.
The port's container volume currently accounts to 35 per cent of Shanghai's total. Forty per cent of the volume originates from sea-to-sea transit shipments, which is higher than the average level of Shanghai port.
The port's container throughput increased to 10.1 million TEU this year from five years ago when it opened. Its services cover all over the world with a frequency of 359 voyages.
