NORTHEASTERN China's port of Yingkou had handled 3 million TEU, or 200 million tonnes of cargo as of November 19, setting a new record in the port's throughput history, Xinhua reported.
The port also have become the second in Liaoning province with throughput hitting 200 million tonnes after the port of Dalian. It took it only three year's time after its throughput first reached 100 million tonnes in 2007.
The port said it has accelerated its expansion to combat the negative effect brought by the world downturn, and it now has become one of the fastest growing ports in China.
