Rizhao port's throughput up 23 pc in first nine months

EAST China's Rizhao port posted a 23 per cent increase in throughput to 170 million tonnes in the first nine months, reports Xinhua.

The port's authority said Rizhao port plans to handle over 210 million tonnes of cargo through 2010, creating another one million tonnes of volume over 2006. The expected throughput's growth is to rank the first among the top 10 coastal ports in China.

The port's throughput in 2009 increased 20 per cent year on year to 181 million tonnes.
