PORTS in south eastern China's Guangxi province posted a 42.6 per cent increase in container volume to 591,600 TEU in the first nine months, reports Xinhua.
The province's Beibu Gulf port moved 384,000 TEU, a 61.2 per cent increase while inland river ports handled 207,600 TEU, a rise of 17.6 per cent year on year.
During the same period, Guangxi's ports handled 130 million tonnes of cargo, up 23.7 per cent. Its Beibu Gulf port moved 83.4 million tonnes with a 26 per cent while inland river ports handled 47.1 million tonnes, up 20 per cent.
