TRADE freight volume through Manzhouli, China's largest land port in the north border near Russia, grew 12.6 per cent to 19.34 million tonnes in the year to date at mid-October, reports Xinhua.
The port's trade freight volume has kept a steady growth since the beginning of the year. Most increases come from import bulk cargo such as crude oil, timber and mineral powder, especially the fertiliser that increased 198.2 per cent to 466,000 tonnes in the first three quarters.
As Russia's economy warms up and its market demands increase, the port's export freight volume to Russia grew 48.4 per cent to 1.29 million tonnes in the first three quarters.
