CENTRAL China's Chongqing city will begin testing its project rail service to Duisburg, Germany this November, reports Xinhua.
The new train service will go through Chongqing, Daizhou, Ankang, Xian, Lanzhou, Urumqi, Alashankou Pass, entering Kazakhstan to Russia, then to Poland and Germany arriving at Duisburg within 13 days, covering 11,179 kilometres (6,835 miles).
The transit time is two thirds less than those 39 days of the previous rail-sea intermodal service, which was put into operation in May with rail linkage to Shenzhen-Yantian terminal. The other is air freight service from Chongqing to Belgium operated since September.
