Throughput of Yuzhny port up to 2.5 million tonnes in Jan-Apr, 08

In January-April 2008, commercial seaport Yuzhny (Ukraine, Odessa region) handled 2.5 million tonnes of cargo (+43.3% against plan), Yuri Kruk, the head of the port informs according to RBC. Cargo handling at the berths of the state company (excluding stevedoring companies) exceeded the plan by 46.7% making 1.57 million tonnes. In particular, the second cargo district of the port handled 1.35 million tonnes of different cargo against planned 880,000 tonnes. In 2007, the port increased cargo handling by 3.5%, year-on-year to 21.5 million tonnes (104.8% against plan).
