Freight traffic passing through the Port of Singapore increased 7.9% in January-August from the same period last year, to 336.54 million tons, the Port Authority press release said.
At the same time, the volume of crude oil fell 2.2% to 117.35 million tons.
In August, freight flows via the port rose by 5.1% to 42.52 million tons.
In Jan-Aug., container trade volume was up 13.2% to 19.01 million TEUs.
Singapore is a city-state located on an island in the South-East Asia. Last year’s throughput of the port amounted to 472 million tons.
