Port Maritime Security conference in Sydney to focus on piracy

THE annual Port Maritime Security conference will be held from September 14-15 in Sydney, where experts will be sharing their specialist security knowledge and counter-terrorism experience, especially, as pirates continue to launch attacks on ships plying commercial trade routes.

Neptune Maritime Security director Nigel Booker will discuss security standards, cargo and personnel protection.

Mr Booker's presentation is expected to be of interest to shipping security executives who "recognise the legal, operational and cultural complexity of modern piracy and the need for an intelligent security solution," a company statement said.
