Fremantle port workers threaten to strike over pay claims

Members of the Maritime Services Union will decide this afternoon if they will take part in a seven day strike which would close the Fremantle Port, the ABC reported today.

The key staff members have received the go ahead from the Industrial Relations Commission to stop work if their pay dispute is not resolved.

Management and workers will meet in a conciliation meeting this afternoon in an attempt to renegotiate their pay deal.
