Container throughput of Fujian rises 25pc in first seven months

CONTAINER throughput of Fujian grew 25.2 per cent year on year to 4.86 million TEU in the first seven months of 2010, equivalent to 63.1 per cent of this year's set target.

The Port of Fuzhou handled 834,900 TEU, up 24.6 per cent year on year, while the Port of Xiamen 3,251,100 TEU, up 28.5 per cent year on year.

Cargo throughput of Fujian's ports showed a year-on-year rise of 0.03 per cent to 180 million tonnes, accomplishing 56.2 per cent of this year's target.
