SINGAPORE's total trade rose by 4.7 per cent in the second quarter of 2010 compared to the previous quarter, almost half the 9.0 per cent expansion in the first quarter.
On a year-on-year basis Singapore's total trade expanded by 28 per cent in the second quarter to reach S$228 billion (US$166.93 billion).
A government statement said that total exports increased 29 per cent while imports went up 27 per cent in the second quarter.
It said increases were recorded in both oil and non-oil trade. Oil trade grew by 47 per cent year on year, while non-oil trade rose 22 per cent.
