Tianjin airport expansion gets go-ahead

Tianjin Binhai International Airport has received approval for its second phase expansion project from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner, reported Xinhua.

The expansion project includes building of a new terminal with a floor space of 220,000 sq m, a 346,000 sq m parking apron and other accommodation facilities.

The airport will accommodate 25 million passengers and 1.7 million metric tonnes of cargo annually by 2020.
