Vladivostok CT sees box throughput rise 55pc in first quarter

VLADIVOSTOK Container Terminal (VCT) in the first half of 2010 handled 134,510 TEU, an increase of 55 per cent compared to the same period a year earlier.

In the first six months of the year, VCT handled 51,265 TEU of outbound containers, 37,635 TEU of inbound, while short sea trades reached 45,151 TEU. Reefer container volume amounted to 13,500 TEU.

In June cargo turnover at VCT declined to 25,830 TEU, down 0.40 per cent compared to the month before, but up 66.73 per cent compared to June 2009, reports Portnews News Agency.
