Novorossiysk box volume rises 34.6pc from January-May

CONTAINER throughput of Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk totalled 172,749 TEU in the first five months of 2009, an increase of 34.6 per cent compared to the same period a year earlier.

Container throughput of NUTEP totalled 58,000 TEU, up 42.9 per cent; NCSP handled 48,304 TEU, up 17.9 per cent; and NLE handled 66,445 TEU, up 42.2 per cent.

In May 2010, container turnover of Novorossiysk increased by 4.9 per cent, reports SeaNews News Agency.
