THE US Port of Tacoma commission has appointed interim port director John Wolfe as the permanent port director.
Mr Wolfe, previously deputy executive director, has led the port on a temporary basis since January 1 following the departure of former executive director Tim Farrell.
Mr Wolfe has served as the deputy executive director of the Port of Tacoma since June 2005. Before joining the port, he served two years as the executive director of the Port of Olympia, and before that as Olympia's director of operations and marine terminal general manager, reports American Shipper.
He also spent 10 years with Maersk Sealand-APM Terminals in Tacoma, including the terminal's operations manager.
