Port of Taicang April box volume sets new high

PORT of Taicang, in eastern China's Jiangsu province, set a new record in its monthly container throughput by having handled 192,700 TEU in April, up 48.6 per cent year on year, Xinhua reported.

The port's monthly cargo throughput tonnage also grew to a new high of 6.4 million tonnes, up 68.6 per cent same period last year.

From January to April, the port handled 594,300 TEU, up 40.6 per cent year on year. Throughput tonnage increased 59.8 per cent to 22.6 million tonnes.
