FESCO improves Japan Trans-Siberian service

May 31, 2010 Port

Transportation group FESCO is planning to use the Japan Trans-Siberian Line (JTSL) service on a weekly basis so that cargo owners will be able to ship containers from Japan every week rather than the previously available twice a month, RIA Oreanda News reported.

In June, the new improved service will begin operations from Japan to the far east of Russia. JTSL, established in 1972, is a joint project of FESCO and Mitsui OSK Lines. The Line connects the Japanese ports of Toyamashinko, Moji, Kobe, Nagoya, Yokohama with the far eastern Ports of Vostochny and Vladivostok.

"With reference of marked positive trends in economy, increase in turnover between Japan and Russia, both import and export, we decided to ship containers on the given direction every week,” said Lyudmila Ilienok, director of Japanese Line of FESCO Lines Vladivostok.

“It will allow our present and future customers to plan their work more effectively.”
