The South Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Libya to promote mutual cooperation in setting up South Korea’s advanced port logistics information system at ports in Libya, UMCI News reported.
Under the MOU, the two countries will exchange technologies and information necessary for building and operating South Korea’s information technology (IT)-based advanced port logistics information system at Libyan ports.
Also, they will strenuously work together in terms of facilitating manpower, equipments and materials supports, as well as training programs. South Korea currently operates "Yes! u-Port," an integrated port logistics information system that automates all processes occurring at ports, including ship movements at trading ports nationwide, entrance and departure reports, harbour works and real-time location tracking for container cars.
