Shanghai International Port Group Co, the operator of Shanghai Port, announced that cargo throughput rose 17.55 percent year-on-year to 35.53 million tonnes in April, China Knowledge Press reported.
The company said its container throughput increased 20.99 percent year-on-year to 2.37 million TEUs last month.
In 2009, the Shanghai-listed company saw its cargo throughput dip 1.1 percent year-on-year to 365 million tonnes and saw its container throughput drop 10.7 percent from the previous year to 25 million TEUs.
