The Port Authority of Kansas City on Wednesday will commemorate the completion of its cleanup of 55 acres for development next to Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources no further action letter will recognize the sites 10-year, $17 million environmental remediation.
The Port Authority, working with Forest City Land Group Inc. of Cleveland, wants an office campus to anchor the sites east edge. The first target is the federal government, which wants to bring a new office building that could employ more than 2,000 people to Downtown.
