Konecranes to supply its first RTGs to Turkey

- Konecranes has received an order for six RTGs from Turkish terminal operator TCE EGE Konteyner Terminal Isletmeleri based in Aliaga, Izmir with the first units being delivered in January 2011. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order.

TCE EGE is part of the Spanish Grup Terminal de Contenidors de Barcelona (TCB) to whom Konecranes delivered its first cranes in 1993 and which today has more than 20 Konecranes cranes in several of their terminals in Valencia, Spain and Paranagua, Brazil.

“We are very pleased with this order,” said Kim Salvén, Konecranes’ sales manager at. “We started the sales work in Turkey two years ago and this has now paid off. Turkey will be one of our focus areas in the future.”

The 16-wheel RTGs are equipped with active load control with a horizontal fine positioning system and Konecranes’ crane management system, ensuring safe and uninterrupted use of the cranes. The cranes have a lifting capacity of 40 tons and can stack one over six containers high and six plus truck lanes wide.
