Otago fender tender

Apr 30, 2010 Port

New Zealand’s Port of Otago will soon go to tender for a refurbishment of the oil wharf in Dunedin's upper harbour, which includes an improved fendering system.

The fendering will be elastomeric rubber cell fenders with facing panels, spaced at about 12 metres along the wharf and 13 in total.

The fendering is quite different to what Otago has at the moment, which is multi-purpose fendering to cater for smaller vessels like 30-metre fishing boats.

This new fendering system will be more appropriate for larger coastal tanker-sized vessels.
