THE Port of Marseilles reported that its Fos container terminal enjoyed a 30 per cent year-on-year increase in volume to 160,000 TEU, which helped to provide the greater harbour's four per cent year-on-year overall cargo increase to 13.5 million tonnes in the first two months of the year.
The container volume increase included a 10 per cent boost to 38,000 TEU from the port's other facilities, attributed to "recovering markets in North Africa and the eastern Mediterranean", reported London's International Freighting Weekly.
