Paradip Port crossed another milestone

Paradip Port crossed another milestone when it handled 50 million tonnes of cargo this fiscal till February 17.

Despite the global slowdown resulting in reduced exports and imports, the Port managed to achieve a growth rate of 27.06 per cent—the highest among Major Ports during the current financial year. Besides, it currently stands 5th amongst the Major as well as non-major ports in total cargo handled this fiscal so far.

The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) expects to register a throughput of 57 million tonnes in the whole of 2009-10, according to Exim News Service.
