Ukraine announces transit cargo discounts in Ust-Dunaisk, effective until this April

Ministry of Transport of Ukraine has introduced discounts to the boundary flat rate for loading and unloading of 10 categories transit commodities at Ust-Dunaisk Commercial Sea Port (Odessa region) effective before April 1st, 2010, “The Transport Business” reports.

The order of Ministry of Transport (N 6 of January 14th imposed several discounts to those earlier approved by the order of the Ministry of Transport N 958 of September 15th 2009.

The discounts include: 50% for handling chemical products (in bulk), 39% of the goods in 30-kg bags, 35% of heavy cargoes in boxes and unpackaged of 215-3000 kg, 18% of heavy cargoes in and unpacked boxes of 3001 kg or more, 33% of packaged goods, pieces of packets (packet transport), 50% for non-ferrous metals in pigs, bars, ingots, metal in packs, sheets, circles, up to 250 kg, 50% for non-ferrous metals in pigs, bars, ingots, metal does not work in packs, sheets, circles, of over 250 kg, 35% of the cargoes in bundles and bales of up to 250 kg, 25% of the cargoes in bundles and bales of over 250 kg, 21,5% of ferrous metals in pigs, ingots, pigs, packs, sheets, circles, rolled ferrous metals.

Besides, the Ministry has introduced a discount to the limit flat rate for loading and unloading of commodities in transit at the port of Kerch (Crimea). In particular, 29% handling discount on coal in bulk and 31% for grain cargo in bulk.

As an earlier report had said, the Ministry of Transport’s order N 958 of September 15th imposed a discount to the boundary flat rate on handling of transit cargoes in 9 commercial sea ports effective before April 1st, 2010. Among other categories, the Ministry imposed a 30% discount on the handling of pellets and iron ore at the Kerch port and 50% for grains and seeds in bulk at the port of Ust-Dunaisk.
