Jiangsu ports' shipping volume reached 5 million TEU in 2009

PORTS in East China's Jiangsu province registered a shipping volume (including arrivals and departures) of 750 million tonnes and five million tonnes in 2009, up 13.3 per cent and 1.4 per cent respectively while hitting a record high, reports Xinhua.

Freight volume from local vessels grew 10.8 per cent to 270 million tonnes while those originated from international vessels increased 26 per cent to 180 million tonnes.
