Guangzhou posts throughput of 241 million tonnes in 2009

PORT of Guangzhou recorded a cumulative throughput of 241 million tonnes for the year of 2009 on December 20, 11 days ahead of schedule.

While detailed figures were not given, the report of Xinhua said the port also expected its container volume to meet the annual target.

After continuous fall in the early half of year, the port's throughput turned for the better and achieved year-on-year growth in September. Its container throughput of domestic trades also improved in the fourth quarter.
