Shenzhen volume falls 15pc to 18.3 million TEU in 2009

THE Port of Shenzhen's cumulative container throughput in the year of 2009 dropped 14.8 per cent year on year to 18.3 million TEU according to statistics from the Shenzhen Transport Commission, Xinhua reported.

The port's cargo throughput tonnage fell 8.3 per cent to 194 million tonnes. Throughput of foreign trade cargo dropped 11.5 per cent to 143 million tonnes. Inbound and outbound travellers decreased 19.7 per cent to 2.9 million.
