Freight shipment at the Port of Singapore fell 8.6%, to 471.45 million tones in 2009

In 2009 volumes of cargo handled at the Port of Singapore declined 8.6% - to 471.451 million tons, including 262.896 million tons cargoes in containers and 176.5 million tons of oil products, the port authority said.

As of 2008, cargo throughput at the port’s terminals was reported at 515.3 million tons, the volume of bunker - 34.9 million tons. PSA International Terminals are currently operating in 28 ports in 16 countries. The company is an agent of 200 container lines operating at 600 ports in 123 countries worldwide.
