CCT awarded with ISO28000 and ISO14001 certification

SHENZHEN's Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT) has received ISO28000 and ISO14001 certifications.

Preparatory work began last February when experts from Shenzhen Angel Star Consulting Co Ltd investigated CCT current situation in the supply chain and undertook training programmes for employees.

All the guidance and counselling work were completed in August and final certification examinations were passed in October.

With the homogenisation of port competition and needs of interested target groups, port security and safety management became the port's key comprehensive strengths.

As one of the first Asian port operators to pass ISO28000, it has already built a set of management systems that are based on ISO9001/ISO14001 and ISO28000 standards.

"CCT certainly is ready to undertake the social responsibility and to build safety control for the port's sustainable development," said a statement from the terminal operator.
