The Port of Zeebrugge is ideal for the exporter looking for an alternative, cost-effective facility in Europe, according to Mr Vincent De Saedeleer, Vice-President of Belgium’s Port of Zeebrugge. Interacting with the trade in Mumbai recently during a meet organised by the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said that Zeebrugge, a multipurpose port located on the coast of the North Sea (one of the busiest trade lanes in the world), offered a lot of advantages, including variable costs, depending on the volume of the cargo, and the use of its supporting services, excellent connections throughout Europe, especially to the UK, and a network of services, such as warehousing, FCL/LCL, repacking and labelling, and veterinary and sanitary controls—all available on the site. This was Mr Saedeleer’s second visit to India in a span of two months, Exim News Service reported.
