ICTSI wins $771m Mexico port contract

Dec 2, 2009 Port

Mexico has awarded a US$771 million port terminal concession to Philippine-based port operator International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI).
ICTSI will invest in Mexico's top port, Manzanillo on the Pacific, to build and operate terminals with a capacity of handling two million containers a year, Reuters reports.
Manzanillo moves 46 percent of Mexico's container traffic and the government is eager to see the port expand to handle growing traffic from Asia.
ICTSI beat Spanish, Chilean and Mexican investors for the contract.
