London Thamesport is today celebrating the arrival of the 1,118 TEU El Temerario, in an exciting development for the South Eastern container terminal.
Hamburg based Team Lines have agreed to add London Thamesport to their existing network of services. At the same time Team Lines will also, via its brand “Delphis Logistics”, start offering door-to-door services to and from the UK.
With a modern fleet of cellular vessels, Team Lines offer unrivalled geographic coverage connecting 30 ports in an area extending from the Baltic Sea to the Iberian Peninsula.
David Gledhill, Chief Executive Officer of Hutchison Ports (UK) Ltd, which owns London Thamesport commented:
“Customer focus and a high degree of flexibility are two areas that are shared by our two organisations and augurs well for our future relationship. Our modern and efficient facilities at London Thamesport will provide a convenient and efficient UK hub for the new Team Lines service. Whilst providing additional container volumes to the port, access to the Team Lines service network for our existing customers represents an exciting opportunity for them to consider their own European network over Britain’s most efficient container port.”
The El Temerario is one of two vessels deployed on the new Team Lines North Europe – Iberian Service and is the first of a number of vessels operated by the Line that are expected to call at London Thamesport in the coming weeks. Its sister ship El Bravo (also 1,118 TEU and 147 metres) loads in Portugal with its UK import cargo this week. The rotation of the service is: London Thamesport – Rotterdam – Lisbon – Vigo – Leixoes – Antwerp – London Thamesport.
