Cochin Port has emerged as the turnaround port for cruise liners with the arrival of the German cruise liner, AIDA cara, here on October 25, the Cochin Port Trust (CoPT) Chairman, Mr N. Ramachandran, said.
According to Exim News Service, the vessel was carrying 1,135 high net worth guests and will stay at BTP berth till October 27.

Around 983 passengers disembarked the vessel on Monday and left for Cochin International Airport to catch a chartered flight. Another batch of 954 passengers are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday in chartered flights.

The Customs here has made extensive arrangements to ensure seamless passenger transit for the disembarking and embarking guests.

According to the CoPT Chairman, this is a maiden turnaround event taking place in Cochin.
Based on the success of this visit, AIDA Cruises plans to make regular use of Cochin Port for passenger turnaround of other vessels of the group, he said.
