Tampa Port Authority board elects officers

The Tampa Port Authority board of commissioners Tuesday elected its officers for 2007, with Steven Pinney selected to head the board as chairman.

In addition, the board elected Lawrence Shipp vice chairman and Rose Ferlita secretary-treasurer.

Pinney is senior vice president of phosphate operations for the Mosaic Company. Shipp is director of institutional client services for the financial services company TIAA-CREF. Ferlita, who was sworn in at the start of the meeting, is also a Hillsborough County commissioner.

Other board members include Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio, Joe Hartley, Lance Ringhaver, and Dr. Joseph Diaz.
