Mar 28, 2008 Port

Workers at state-owned ports in France went on a 24-hour strike Wednesday to protest privatization of plants.

Workers blocked docks at Fos near Marseille and Nantes Saint-Nazaire.

Reuters quoted a Port of Marseille spokesman as saying two oil and four chemical tankers were prevented from entering the Fos-Lavera terminal and that three oil tankers were prevented from entering Nantes.
