Chilean ports in the red

Andrés Rengifo, the director of Chile's Port Company Systems, has said that the country’s public ports will all post negative figures in 2009.

He points out that when the economy grows by 4%, ports grow by 8% and the same is true when the economy shrinks as it is doing at the moment.

During the first six months of the year, ports reported traffic down by 10.
